[His opinion is that Pyra doesn't need their power. As for possibility of incompatibility, he himself doesn't know the answer. A part of him is wary, even though he's linked with Pyra himself before. Another part of him scoffs at the idea that their fractional power could unbalance someone as powerful as her.]

I know not how she will receive our power. [But Noctis has asked for an opinion, and Somnus decides to give his.] If there should be interference, hers may be the one that hinders yours.

[Even if it's only a little, Noctis appreciates the honesty, thinking quietly on the response and using Horus as a distraction as he does so. Hers hindering his... that might be so, if you consider sheer power of one versus the other. She definitely has more stamina than him when it comes to magic, even though he believes her claim that it isn't infinite. But every time they've woven their magic together, it's been only to his benefit; there's been no clashing, no war for dominance. Just a simple connection, a boost of energy as it's dispelled, or a method of focusing his energies when otherwise he's unable to fixate on some magic-related goal. With how reluctant she seems to be about using it for anything else, thus far it's felt forcefully one-sided.]

I don't know what's holding her back, but she can't talk about what her power does or what she's really capable of. [Besides "support", which is absolutely helpful but... vague.] She always seems happy to help, but it feels weird to keep using her as some kind of walking battery. That's not fair to her. I was thinking maybe this would give her more freedom with it.

[It would, he concedes, and be fairer that way. Somnus has no objections on his end, but nor does he have a straight answer. Even his guarded knowledge of Pyra is rather limited and of no help here. Bowing his head in thought, he considers Noctis' perspective.]

[Which is his roundabout blessing to go ahead and make the offer. Pyra won't abuse the power of kings; this, he knows.]

[Somnus has just as much claim to make such an offer - and forming that connection - as him, if not more. But he doesn't know where they stand beyond the obvious.]

[And if they're deemed unworthy, they perish. It's as simple as that. Pyra has yet to ask, and he hasn't thought of her as needing anything he has to give. So no, Noctis wouldn't be stealing anything.]

Yeah... well, not like she wouldn't say so if she had a preference.

[Honestly even as he says it, he's not even sure that's true, because Pyra waffles between predictable and not moment to moment. He'd like to think so, though. She has her own limits.]

[She's cagey about certain things, then stubbornly insistent with others when she feels it necessary to make a point. As for Somnus, he has a feeling that she'll at least appreciate the offer.]

You've decided, then?

[Somnus isn't going to ask her. It's going to be all Noctis.]

Yeah. Well- decided to ask her, anyway.

[Whether she agrees or not, that's up to her. But they both know that.]

[Failing one way or another is just part of being human, the cause of which can sometimes be external. Stagnation is born from within and may lead to one's undoing. Ultimately, he wishes to stress that it's all right to screw something up as long as there's movement.]

[Just one more thing outside of his reach, then. It's pretty cool to see its potential, though. So far all he's determined for certain of the ring is that it can cause pain and a lot of noise.]

Did nothing but "make haste" since leaving Insomnia. It's kind of weird not to be pushed into rushing around, you know?

[A million things to be done and such a short span of time to do them- the journey from home to Altissia is so breakneck it's a miracle he had any time to breathe at all. Even here, with far fewer goals and limited urgency, he's often torn between enjoying his "vacation" and making use of the extra time to fix whatever his faults will screw up in the future.

If anyone would know how to slow down and be patient, it would be a guy who sat in a ring for thousands of years. Noctis is a far cry from that sort of mentality, still.]

But it is weird, this lull. Aellyn is a whole new world, albeit one that’s also in need. There should be a sense of urgency when all that remains is this city; however, unlike Eos, their knowledge of what must come to pass is limited, and thus they can only proceed slowly.]

There's much to be learned about the world and this city. What matters is that we do not stand still.

So don't rush, but don't just stand around either. Save the world at a leisurely pace?
