The door opens, revealing Somnus, who's foregone the toga in favor of a tunic that extends past his knees with a deep blue cloak draped around his body. The cold has never bothered him too much, and his company is warm besides: at his side stands Pyra, with whom he holds hands.]
[ They had been upon the couch just moments before, ready to turn in for the night. As such, she's merely in a simple long tunic as well, accented only by a similarly deep blue, draping shawl.
Era is far more appropriately dressed than either of them (with such gorgeous shoes to match!), and lovelier in all of her light and aura. Pyra smiles gracefully at her, happy to see her once more as she echoes Somnus' greeting with a genuine cadence in her tone. ] Good evening, Era.
[ Era doesn't know why she hadn't expected Pyra's presence, given what she saw in the Echo, but it is unexpected all the same. Luckily Era is used to dealing with the unexpected, and so simply offers a nod at the both of them. Their clothing is plain, and not best suited for a Heavensturn celebration, so she gives their outfits a scrutinizing look before reaching into a pocket and pulling out ... fabric. ]
Heavensturn — New Year's — is a celebration bidding farewell to the year past and welcoming the new.
[ She continues pulling out a length of fabric as she speaks, then another — sheer, and embroidered with stars, the curtains are leftover from her Starlight decorating and seems appropriate enough for tonight. Era pulls out a handful of golden safety pins with her other hand, then holds everything out for either one or the both of them to take. ]
Dress for a fond welcome, for perhaps the future will be kinder than the past.
[He's hardly been here for two months, and this has ever been his usual mode of dress in his days as a noble. The lengths of fabric she presents are unnecessary and excessive—more than that, he belongs to a millennia-old prophecy that's yet to end. He looks down at the fabric and safety pins with a blank expression, not yet moving to receive either one.]
[ Era, holding out the garment, is pointedly regarding Somnus as he speaks; it seems fairly reasonable to interpret that the garment she holds is for him. It is a lovely gift for her to share, even if spur-of-the moment, further proof of her kindness. Or so Pyra believes.
Quietly, Pyra takes the garment, and then looks up towards Somnus with a slight, inquiring tilt of her head, meeting his eyes as if asking for permission. Only then does she begins to place it about Somnus, using the pins where necessary. Her hand smooths and styles out the fabric, allowing it to drape over his shoulder like a stream of stars. He looks quite sophisticated, she thinks.
As for the extra one for herself, she drapes it about her in a similar, simpler manner. She is not royalty, after all, and she is wholly aware that this celebration is in part, for his family. Only afterwards does she smile to him, and then to Era with gratefulness of the gift, her hand slipping back into his.
OKAY THEY ARE NOW READY TO PARTY. LET'S GET LIT. ]
[ Era gives a small nod at Pyra's work, pleased at least one of them is putting in the effort. There is one last thing before Era or Carbuncle make any move to leave, however —
She pulls yet another item from her pockets, though this time it is a plush Chocobo; imperfect, clearly made by hand, with a crimson bow tied carefully around its amber neck. Era holds this out for Somnus to take. ]
[A glance at Pyra and the lack of protest get him draped in the shear fabric. He doesn't study himself afterward, taking the addition for what it is and little more.
It seems that Era has no intention of giving the gift herself. He wonders if she was one of the people responsible for he and his brother's correspondence over the communicator when he considers their previous, bizarre encounter. No matter. This regards Regis. After a moment of pause, Somnus nods and accepts the plush, which he tucks into the Armiger to pass on later, then adjusts his grip on Pyra's hand.
Seeing as the second length of fabric was offered to her, there's little need to ask about bringing Pyra along. She inquired about going to the party before any of this, and it'd be senseless to leave her behind when Era has accepted in all but words.]
[ When she had inquired if Somnus had wished to go, he had declined, and she did not insist beyond that. They had retiring for the night, just about to sleep. Now he is going, and he had mentioned as much that Era would be fetching him. She will leave the conversation to the two of them, seeing as that Era had originally come over specifically for only Somnus in the first place.
Regardless, she notes that Era appears quite lovely tonight, too. Is that make-up? It's a wonderful hue upon her paler skin and scales.
[ It occurs to her only after all is done that she doesn't actually know where Cor lives. Luckily she and (more importantly) her Carbuncle had met the man in-person before, meaning her familiar can lead the way with its superb sense of smell. She nods at it, silently instructing it to lead the way, and it gives an energetic yip before doing just that. ]
[Somnus looks in Pyra's direction as he's about to take the first step out, only to pause. Something is off. Rounding on her, he reaches out with his free hand and tucks a stray strand of hair behind her ear.
Then he turns back and moves to follow Carbuncle, whose guidance is most fortunate, because he doesn't know where Cor lives either. He commits the path they take to his memory, knowing that they'll be returning without Era once the new year comes. If nothing else, he'll know where to find Regis and the Crownsguard in the future.]
[ Mindful of his presence, she stops just as he does, looking up at him when his hand raises to her. It's a quick correction and nothing more, but his mindfulness is appreciated nonetheless. In return, her smile is gracious; her eyes warm as his hand lowers from behind her ear. ] ...Thank you.
[ Pyra's gaze raises to the top of his head, wondering if she should do the same to quickly adjust his own... but she knows by now that that could take far longer than a simple comb through. And so she turns, linking her arm with his so that they might follow after Era and her guide together. OKAY NOW PARTY TIME. ]
